Hi everyone, I bet you can't wait for the wedding! I just wanted to post this as a friendly reminder to please reserve hotel rooms if you have not done that already. We have all of the RSVPs other than just about 2 or 3 (which is great!) so thank you to everyone for being so timely. Chris and I are very excited, and a little nervous honestly. We are finishing everything up and ready to head back to Ohio to see you all! As always, give Chris (419-348-6626) or I (419-320-2555) a call if you have any questions about anything! I made this little map below with a few places in mainly South Toledo. It mainly contains food/bars, but I can add anything else if you have requests!

invitations

by now, i am sure everyone has received their invitations. and of course, that means i need to bring your attention to a mistake that we made. we neglected to mention that the reception is immediately following the ceremony, at the zoo's african lodge. some of you may have already figured that out, but just in case anyone was confused by this! i will of course be posting more updates as we get closer to the big day, and don't hesitate to get a hold of either chris or i if you have any questions! sorry about any confusion we caused about the reception!

Hi again everyone, we have hotel information available. We will be using the Hilton Toledo.

Reservations need to be made by August 1, and rooms are $94/night + tax. We have blocked off a set of rooms so please remember to ask for rooms with the Schedel/Wainwright wedding group. The hotel is actually fairly close to the Zoo, although hopefully we will be arraigning for a shuttle to and from the wedding. I will let you know when I know more info about it!

Otherwise, planning is coming right along, Every time we get another thing scheduled/paid for/confirmed I feel such a sense of relief. But it still feels like there is so much to do!

chris and i were in ohio last week for a tasting for the wedding and for his sister kate's going away party. my mom, chris's mom, and kate all came with us to the tasting, it was a lot of fun!

this is where the reception will be, where the tasting was.

all of the food was really good, i am showing my mom some of the different dishes chris and i liked

we stopped in the gardens where the ceremony will be so we could show everyone what it looks like.

later, while i was getting my engagement ring cleaned, we tried on wedding bands.

all of these pictures were made by kate, im glad we got to spend one last weekend together before she leaves for albania!

chris and i have been slowly but surely getting things together for the wedding. we just finally have our registries completely updated and we finally got our "save-the-dates" into the mail. next up is working on the invitations (so soon after save the dates!) and attempt to find an officiant. i am still just trying to tackle things one or two at a time so that i don't get to overwhelmed by things.

i am excited to announce that we have set a date! August 15, 2009 at the Toledo Zoo!

i stole this image from a video they had about weddings at the zoo, but to give you an idea of the ceremony

and this is where the reception will take place. just little teasers (and no, that is not how we will decorate).

Amy's Ring!

So, I bought Amy a ring. It's a simple white gold band with a checkerboard-cut Emerald and two tiny little, almost invisible, diamonds. It's a really nice ring, and Amy was very surprised and excited when I gave it to her. Here is the ring, and a picture in which she tried to recreate how excited she was. Not as excited as she was when she got to see the owl, but still.
